At Westminster Presbyterian Church, we believe "every disciple of the church" is called to ministry. So at the top of our letterhead you will find these words:
Our Minister - Every Disciple of Jesus Christ At Westminster Presbyterian Church
I am a native of Bucks County, PA, outside of Philadelphia, and I come from two long lines of Quaker families. At the age of 19 I had a conversion experience, and ended up joining the Doylestown Presbyterian Church. Subsequently, God called me into ministry, and I have been a pastor for 38 years, serving churches in Pennsylvania. In February of 2018 I finished a 17-year pastorate at the College Hill Presbyterian Church in Easton and moved to Sarasota in anticipation of retirement. Most recently I served for 15 months as an interim pastor in North Fort Myers.
My wife, Barbara, is also a Presbyterian minister, and she is currently serving as transitional executive for the Presbytery of Newark.
Sandra has been the church office manager for over ten years. She is truly the "glue" that holds our operation together, and if you need anything from the church staff, she is the best place to start. Sandra loves traveling when she is not working, here in Argentina enjoying a great vacation.
Woody is our "maestro" of all things musical at Westminster. He and wife Joyce are the dynamic leaders of our adult choir and our bell choir. Woody arranges special music throughout the year adding to our worship of God. Woody and Joyce are retired teachers from the Manatee School system, who enjoy golf, tennis, and kayaking. If you love music, contact Woody if you can catch him...
Elise is our bookkeeper and financial secretary. She works part-time, with office hours usually on Wednesdays. Elise is the one to see with a question about contributions or church budget items. Elise enjoys making greeting cards, camping and "my Oscar".
